Chicago's western suburbs
Whole home softening and filtration, plus reverse osmosis drinking water, installed for you. No oversized equipment, no five figure quote, no pressure. Just honest pricing.
Most water problems in Chicago's western suburbs come down to one of these three. Each one is treated differently, which is why the assessment comes first.
Naperville, Wheaton, Glen Ellyn and Downers Grove buy Lake Michigan water through the DuPage Water Commission, treated at Chicago's Jardine plant. In 2025 it left the plant at about 142 mg/L of hardness, roughly 8 grains per gallon, disinfected with chlorine.
Aurora blends Fox River water with its own wells and lime-softens it. The city's 2025 report puts delivered hardness at 6 to 10 grains per gallon, disinfected with chloramine rather than chlorine, which is a different taste and a different fix from the lake towns next door.
Out west the water comes from wells, and every town treats it differently. Geneva runs its well water through reverse osmosis, DeKalb softens to about 7 grains per gallon, and Oswego is moving from deep wells to Lake Michigan water by 2028. So we start from your address.
Chlorine, chloramine and PFAS
You can usually taste it.
Most people cannot.
Nobody can.
Which is why the assessment starts with what your utility publishes about Chicago's western suburbs water, not a guess.

Well systems are sized and priced separately.

The unit shown is one configuration. Yours is sized after the assessment.
We make the process easy from start to finish. First, we review your water concerns, then recommend the right solution, and finally install your system with care so you can enjoy better water with confidence.
We discuss your home's water source, concerns, and goals to better understand what type of filtration or treatment solution may be right for you.
We explain your options clearly, answer your questions, and recommend a system based on your water needs, home setup, and budget.
Once you choose the right solution, we install your system with care, test performance, and make sure you understand how your new water treatment system works.

About TrueWater Co. • Your Trusted Water Filtration Partner
TrueWater Co. serves Chicago's western suburbs, from Naperville and Downers Grove out through the Fox Valley. We look at where your water comes from first, recommend the system that fits your home, and put one price in writing before anything is ordered.

If yours is not here, send it with your assessment request. There is no wrong question about your own water.
We call and go through your water with you. Then you get the system we would put in and the exact price. The assessment is free.
The number we put in writing is the number. If something in your house would change it, you hear about it before any work starts.
Wherever the water enters the house, usually a basement, a utility room or a garage.
Enough floor for the tanks plus room to open the cabinet lid and get to the bypass.
Top up the cabinet when it runs low. That is the whole routine, and the setup notes cover it.
Yes. A private supply changes through the year, so it gets sized differently from a municipal one. We handle both.
